Maya 2.8

All done and submitted. Could have I done better? Perhaps. Could I do better and still have social live? Unlikely. Anyway, I am quite happy with how it came out with all the time I wasted. At least I didn't had to spend whole night in labs finishing it up like some people. Oh and learned how to go good videos out of renders in After Effects, which is great.

Maya 2.7

Didn't do any changes to the animation, I wasn't sure what else to add to it and if I'll think about it too much I'll just fuck it up by trying too hard. Wrote down the report, which was a bitch, like again I had more to write than was word limit, damn limits. Did pictures of char design too and the storyboard. Oh and I think I will have to save the AVI differently, uncompressed it is like 240MB, bloody limit is 100MB. Anyway, here it is compressed a lot. Tomorrow just to submit and see what I'll get.

Maya 2.6

Not gonna upload any video tonight, but I think I am finished, more or less. Added some dirt going off the shovel onto the pile, so it really looks like he is digging. And changed speed of the arm movement, its a bit faster so he is touching his head before he shakes it. Did some sketches too and need to draw my storyboard tomorrow, as well as finish the report. I have 2000 words rough work and lots to talk about, so just need to half it and all good. I think thats all on my progress....we run out of Beta and will be releasing on time =P

Maya 2.5

Played around with the lamp's animation a bit, made it less jumpy, well it is still jumping but the movements are smoother. Had some trouble with the last jump, it looked like it was lagging in mid air so deleted lots of keyframes and kept only few for nice and smooth jump and fall. With the PumpkinDude I had to render from two files. The other file doesn't have IK handles in hands so I could move them much easier to make him touch his head..pumpkin..whatever. It worked out all right I think. Also changed the cameras a bit.

Maya 2.4

Didn't do as much work as I wanted today, but still managed to make some progress. Had problem with the PumpkinDude rig, I couldn't really move the hands separately. I wanted him to stand up and touch his head. I think I might need to replace the char on the scene, or do separate renders from a scene with a different rig. Will see tomorrow. I am on like 11 seconds, so I think long enough. Not sure if I will do any post-production work in After Effects.

Maya 2.3

About time I went back to doing 3D, like actually doing it than just messing about. This week was kinda weird, not to mention the fucking weather...so damn hot. Anyway, I have set up background and lighting, imported the lamp and done some progress on the animation. I had a problem with looping the jumps at first, somehow the frames didn't connect right and it was all funky, but I think I was copying the wrong frames and also had setting on 24FPS instead of 25FPS. After batch rendering it to post something today I realized I forgot to Display the background and I didn't want to re-render it so its without it for now, just imagine a forest instead of the black. Tomorrow I am gonna do some tweaking to the animation and add more. Also must make a note to find some good program to make videos out of renders, PhotoLapse doesn't sort them properly, it goes 1, 10, 2, 3 an so on, so I gotta keep renaming files, had to do over 100 tonight, which I dont want to do again.

Maya 2.2

Been finishing off my 2D stuff so didn't work on the 3D much since last post, which I need to start real soon, deadline next Friday. I think I have the main portion of my animation done and just need to finish the rest, and I am thinking of some story too. Will need to do that tomorrow, and then do as much as possible over the weekend. Had slight issue with some files, texture path went wrong and in uni all of them did, but its fixable. Also was show some cool Mentalray thing to generate sky and sun, which is great, but somehow too strong for my needs, I think I will just go with standard lights. The test renders I did it look like he is on a beach lol I want kinda dark-ish, foggy forest.

Flash 1.9

All done and ready to be submitted. I went through the list of Principles of Animation and think I got them all at least partially, will see what the teachers will think. Added some more effects in After Effects and background music, which was a bitch to pick because I wasn't sure what I want. I tried Marylin Manson stuff and even Bleeding Through, but it was too fast for the old look I was going for with the black and white and 8mm film effect. So at the end I chose a slow song that sounds like a music box, I think it goes with the animation well. I will show it to few people before submitting, so might do little changes here and there, but this is what I am happy with.

If I had more time I would like to draw more of the frames, instead relying on the Tween feature so much, I think it might give it bit more personality and to me more control. It doesn't entirely match my storyboard, had to cut off the scene with the hand, changed the Girl's reaction and also made her a vampire, I think it makes more sence rather than a goth girl in the woods, which I like, but people might not get it.

DPS 0.9

Hm, somehow forgot all about this. Already finished the Individual Evaluation and submitted it. The 1000 words Critical Essay is half way there, wrote down 1000 words and have list of my references, now just need to stick them inside the report and make it more readable. Which I gotta do tomorrow and Monday, since Tuesday is deadline.

Flash 1.8

Adobe After Effects are awesome, helped me to get my animation all sexy. And I don't even need some Play button, coz the thing doesn't loop when I save it as SWF from AE. I think I will work on some bits a bit more and add short credits I suppose. Only drawback is it wont stretch anymore, which is not such a bad thing and it stay nice and neat in frames, like you don't see the shit around it thats outside the frame.  I might add some more effects than only Black&White, but will do that tomorrow and then ready to submit finally.
